Wildlife in Assiniboine Forest

My intent in the forest is not to do wildlife photography, but occasionally as I trek around I come across an animal or bird or bug who obliges with a pose.  So here are the mug shots of some of the Assiniboine Forest's finest.

Inside the Gall on a Late Goldenrod Plant.  The tiny maggot on this young specimen is the greyish spot in the centre.

Insect Gall in Spring.  It is unclear whether this is a Late Goldenrod or a Canada Thistle.

In Some Areas, Ant Mounds Are Common
