Scenic Assiniboine Forest

The Assiniboine Forest is a place of breathtaking beauty, during any season of the year.  Whether it's the spring flowers, the lush growth of summer, the rich colours of autumn, or the subtle tones of the forest in winter, there is always something for the eye.  Click these links to tour the seasons.

These are some of the photos I like most from my treks into the forest, and some that are simply representative, along with some others that friends have contributed, in an attempt to portray the variety of flora, colour, and pattern that is there to see.

Some are vistas that portray the variety of the landscape (which isn't all forest!), and others are just little picturesque things that I've come across on or off the trails.  For the most part, I won't point out exactly where these photos were taken in the forest, but maybe I'll occasionally give a hint.

This is probably my favourite spot in the forest.  The trail is almost overgrown with wild licorice. and as far as the eye can see... nothing but aspens.  A peaceful feeling.

Artists who wish to use any of my photos for inspiration are welcome to do so.  My photos are the ones which are not attributed to any other contributor.

There are lots more photos in the Plants part of this web site.   Don't forget to go there.
